The company’s main business is designing, building and selling data logging equipment (trackers) to telephone switch manufacturers, at home and abroad.
My position with this company was Analyst programmer. My main duties were the design and implementation of test software for tracker data logger\alarm systems. The software was written in Visual basic 6. The software was designed to utilise Modem\ TCP/IP and serial link communications.
Testing included individual unit components and a complete test of all components in situ, plus installation of unit’s operating system (Linux) before shipment to customers. The software generated a log file of all unit tests and shipment information for company traceability.
In addition I was charged with designing and implementing test software relating to future data loggers\alarm systems and to assess Visual Basic\C# .net for future projects.

DTN Research limited
The company’s main business was selling\renting telephone switch systems with specialist software to handle reports etc on switch activity.
My position with this company was as a programmer. My main responsibility was to convert and enhance an account and billing program (written in part using C and Qbasic for DOS) to a windows format using Visual basic 4. The program dealt with setting up of and editing existing customer accounts, relating to phone cards. The program worked in conjunction with the telecommunication switch equipment and gave the company the ability to update customer accounts in real time.
Other projects included the design and implementation of a sentinel program, which monitored switch activity and issued a text alarm message via pager on power fail to key personnel, and producing, processing and installing voice prompts onto switch telecommunication computers.
